Starla Karas - Tax Specialist
Starla Karas brings more than 15 years of experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, business process improvement, and strategic planning for global Fortune 500 organizations. During her career with National Oilwell Varco (NOV), she held leadership roles overseeing financial operations, P&L management, capital planning, financial reporting, and operational analysis. Her ability to turn complex financial information into practical business insights has helped leadership teams make informed decisions and improve profitability and efficiency.
Starla has extensive experience managing multimillion-dollar operating and capital budgets, developing financial plans, analyzing performance, and improving internal processes and controls. She is also passionate about building strong relationships, mentoring teams, and finding practical solutions that improve accuracy and service.
Starla earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rice University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Accounting from Texas A&M University.
Outside of her professional career, Starla has served on the leadership team of redM, an organization focused on ending human trafficking. She is married, the proud mother of three children, RoseMarie, James, and Xavier, and has called The Woodlands home for many years. Starla values faith, family, and community involvement and spends her spare time cheering on her children as they compete in all the sports that end with “ball”.
