April Frankum, CPA - Business Advisory Specialist
April Frankum, a licensed CPA, graduated from Emporia State University in 1995, and began her career in Topeka Kansas, where she worked with Berberich, Trahan and Associates. She then worked in Dallas with Marlin G. Peterson, P. C., as Senior Tax Manager. Most recently, April joined Ikard & Kennedy, CPAs in the Woodlands.
April has experience in reporting for all taxpayers, including businesses and individuals. April enjoys the challenges of preparing returns of all complexities, as well as accounting and bookkeeping functions. April’s career goal is to relieve the burden of tax reporting and accounting from the client by helping them understand and feel confident with their situation, giving them the freedom to focus on what they do best.
Since moving to Houston in 2009, April was self-employed and has served as Board Member with various non-profit organizations, assisting with their accounting and tax compliance. She served as Treasurer for the Society of Samaritans in Magnolia, TX, as well as her serving her church in the accounting and budgeting committees.
April has many interests including music, cooking and martial arts. She especially enjoyed playing with her church orchestra at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas/Plano, and currently plays bass guitar for fun. As a martial artist, she holds a brown belt in Kuk Sool Won. April has two children, MariElle and Levin, and has lived in Magnolia since 2009.
